After the bitter 2:3 defeat after extra time against league newcomers Ferencvaros Budapest, the disappointment of Graz coach Harry Lange was clearly noticeable.
“It’s difficult to find words after this game. It just hurts,” Lange told the “Kronen Zeitung” with a feeling of sadness. No wonder – a look at the statistics spoke volumes: 48:15 shots in favor of Graz, but in the end there was only one point. Despite the clear superiority in finishing and high intensity, the puck simply didn’t want to cross the line more often.
However, Lange expressly defended his players: “We just have to keep going. At some point the pucks will fall in again. My boys put their foot down, everyone threw themselves into it, showed their wit – I can’t blame them for anything.”
