The Spusu Vienna Capitals continue to drive their squad planning for the upcoming season and increasingly focus on young talents. As the club announced on Monday, five young players will in future belong to the extended squad and are mainly used in the Alps Hockey League. If necessary, you are also available as options for the professional team.
Specifically, it is Josef Flick, Lukas Piff, Max Stiegler and the brothers Leon and Lorenz Widhalm. These five players will mostly collect play practice at partner clubs in the Alps Hockey League in the coming season. The aim is to promote the development of the young athletes and at the same time keep them in the game rhythm in order to be able to quickly integrate into the professional team if necessary.
Stiegler and Leon Widhalm are once again on the ice for the Zeller Eisbären, with which they start the title defense after the AHL title win last year. Flick, Piff and Lorenz Widhalm will collect minuteers in other AHL clubs. In particular, Lukas Piff, who returns after a longer injury break, is to be continuously introduced to his previous form.
