On Friday Villach will challenge second-placed Ljubljana. The Slovenians could return to the top of the table with a win, but sixth-placed VSV is currently in strong form – three wins in a row speak for themselves. The Blue-Whites have won four of their last five home games. In the first duel of the season, Olimpija clearly won 7:2.

Graz officially introduced Dan Lacroix as the new head coach on Wednesday. Until his visa arrives, Philipp Pinter will remain with the gang on an interim basis. EC Red Bull Salzburg – Steinbach Black Wings Linz
After being eliminated from the Champions Hockey League, champions Salzburg will face Linz on Friday. Benjamin Nissner is playing his 500th league game. The Upper Austrians arrive with seven wins from their last eight games and are only four points behind Salzburg. However, they have not been able to win in Salzburg for eight games. Linz won the first duel of the season in front of their home crowd in extra time.
HC TIWAG Innsbruck – The Sharks – FTC-Telekom
After a weekend with no points, Innsbruck is aiming for redemption in the home game against FTC-Budapest. The twelfth-placed Tyroleans are currently nine points behind the league newcomers, who are in ninth place. Ferencváros with ex-Shark Brady Shaw (23 points, third in the league) won two of the last three games. The Hungarian club won the first meeting 6-2.
Pioneers Vorarlberg – FTC Telekom
On Saturday, the Pioneers and Budapest will be on the ice for the second time in 24 hours. The hosts want to get closer to the top 10 in the home game in Feldkirch. The Hungarians clearly won the first duel of the season 6-0.
