In six rounds of voting and after thousands of votes were cast, fans have already chosen six “Hockey News Players of the Month” from September to February. The editorial team nominated six more deserving cracks – now we are looking for the player of the 2025/26 season from this selection!
Nicolai Meyer (September), Brady Shaw (October), Rasmus Reijola (November), Tyler Coulter (December), TJ Brennan (January) and Michael Raffl (February) were the monthly winners and are therefore automatically eligible for Player of the Season voting.
In addition, the Hockey News editorial team has now nominated six other deserving players: Mathias From, Nick Bailen, Brad McClure, David Kickert, Maxime Lagace and Lukas Haudum, who are now up for fan voting for player of the season.
The result then forms 50% of the voting, the remaining 50% is determined in a vote within the HN editorial team. This means that in both the fan and editorial voting, the winner is awarded 12 points, the second-placed 11, the third-placed 10 points, etc. up to the twelfth-placed, who receives one point. The player with the most total points from both votings is the Hockey News Player of the 2025/26 season and will be announced after the voting ends!
