The Alps Hockey League continues seamlessly without an international break. A total of six matches are on the program this week from Wednesday to Sunday. As a special highlight, the only Wednesday game between EC Bregenzerwald and the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan will be broadcast free of charge on YouTube live stream.
EC Bregenzerwald is currently in strong form and has recently celebrated four wins in a row. The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan, on the other hand, have been waiting for complete success for four games. In the table, Bregenzerwald is in seventh place with 20 points, while Vipiteno is in tenth place with 15 points. On Wednesday there will be the first direct duel between the two teams this season. The game will be broadcast free of charge on the official Alps Hockey League YouTube channel. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
More than a third of all games this season with a difference of just one goal
The encounter between Bregenzerwald and Vipiteno marks the 86th game of the current, extremely exciting season. Of the 85 games so far, 33 matches were decided by just one goal difference. The race for the top of the table is also tight: The Red Bull Hockey Juniors are currently one point ahead of KHL Sisak. The top five teams are within eleven points, and even fifth-placed EK Die Zeller Eisbären is only seven points ahead of twelfth-placed HC Meran/o Pircher. This means that almost all teams currently have a realistic chance of qualifying for the Master Round.
Zell am See, Sisak and Asiago are crowd pullers
The attractiveness of the league is also evident in the spectator stands: almost 57,000 fans have attended the 85 games of the season so far. Zell am See leads the statistics with an average of over 2,000 spectators per game, followed by KHL Sisak (Ø 1,438) and Asiago (Ø 1,177).
EC Bregenzerwald has only played three home games so far, which attracted an average of 819 fans to the Dornbirn exhibition stadium. Several hundred spectators are expected again on Wednesday – both on site and in front of the screens.
