HC TIWAG Innsbruck beat EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV 5-2 on Sunday. The Haie rewarded themselves with three points after a good performance. The hosts got off to a dream start when Matt Wilkins took the early lead after just 17 seconds. Villach equalized through Adam Helewka before the Haie went ahead again in the second third. After further goals on both sides, Benjamin Corbeil and Stefan Klasser gave the team a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes. In the final period, Sebastian Benker decided the game early with a counterattack (49th), Corbeil finished off the game with an empty-net goal. The HCI went into the Christmas break feeling successful.
