There is a tense atmosphere at the EC-KAC before the important Champions Hockey League home game against GKS Tychy. While the Red Jackets want to regain their self-confidence after recent mixed performances in the league, the audience response has so far fallen well short of expectations.
In an interview with the “Kleine Zeitung”, General Manager Oliver Pilloni was openly disappointed about the slow ticket sales: “We haven’t sold 2,000 tickets yet,” said the KAC boss. “I can understand people – a game on a Wednesday evening starting at half past eight is not ideal.”
In terms of sport, the coaching team warns against underestimating the Polish opponents. Despite the meager number of points so far, Tychy has shown strong performances in the Champions Hockey League. A win is a must for Klagenfurt in order to maintain their chance of reaching the play-off phase.
