In the only Sunday game of the Alps Hockey League, EC Bregenzerwald celebrated a clear 5-2 home win against the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers. With their second win of the season against the bottom team in the table, Vorarlberg, who were already in the lead with five goals after the second period, moved closer to the top five again.
Despite a still tense personnel situation, Bregenzerwald showed a concentrated performance in the home game against Unterland. After an initially balanced opening phase, Josef Flick and Toivo Laaksonen gave the home team a 2-0 lead shortly before the end of the period. In the second period, the forests followed up with goals from Ben Grasser, Bernhard Posch and Julian Zwerger and extended the score to 5-0 before Unterland’s goalkeeper Giovanelli was substituted. In the final third, Vorarlberg continued to control the action, but only hit the bar twice. The guests scored two late consolation goals through Artur Seniut (majority) and Thomas Galimberti to make the final score 5-2. With this success, the ECB moved closer to the top 5 again.
