ICEHL: Graz99ers burn an offensive fireworks against Fehervar!

In the supplementary game of the fourth round, the Moser Medical Graz99ers against Hydro Fehervar AV19 prevailed 9: 4. For the Styrians, the threesome against the Hungarians was the first home win of the still young season.

The Moser Medical Graz99ers had a much better start against Hydro Fehérvár. After only 31 seconds, it got really loud for the first time in the Merkur Eisstadion: Marcus Vela skilfully overrun the box of Feirvár keeper Rasmus Reijola and promptly ensured 1-0. The hosts also remained a tone afterwards and captain Korbinian Holzer, who went forward as a defender, increased to 2-0 after passing by Tim Harnisch. But the guests came back in the first section – Balaz’s Varga shortened to 1: 2 in the 17th minute.

The Graz also started furiously in the second section. Again it only took 31 seconds before Paul Huber had overwhelmed to 3-1 with a spectacular tip-in. Shortly afterwards, Nick hit Bailen to 4: 1. Although Fehérvár was able to shorten again, the 99ers did not let their goal mood spoil and set 7: 3 until the second break.

In the final third, the number of offensive continued. The guests could no longer seriously endanger the Graz victory, which Styrian finally screwed the result to 9: 4. Paul Huber and Nicholas Bailen each achieved a double pack.

With this success, the Moser Medical Graz99ers climb to third place in the table. The leadership duo Olimpija Ljubljana and EC Red Bull Salzburg is ahead of four points, but has already played one game more than Styrian.
