The Steinbach Black Wings Linz have decided to make two further changes as part of their squad planning for the new season. Logan Roe and Yohann Auvitu will also not return to the steel city.
The cut in the sporting planning for the coming season in the win2day ICE Hockey League affects two further legionary positions at the Steinbach Black Wings Linz. After careful consideration, Logan Roe and Yohann Auvitu will also be leaving Linz.
The former has served as an indispensable leader in the Upper Austrian defense over the past four seasons. The American developed into a marathon man and only missed a single competitive game during his entire time at the Untere Donaulände. In 222 appearances in the domestic championship, the left-handed shooter recorded an impressive 135 direct goal involvements and scored 35 goals himself. The now 34-year-old was a central linchpin in his own defense. However, the Stahlstadt team’s defense, which was vulnerable last season, sometimes left him at a loss. Therefore, as part of the personnel changes in the upcoming transfer period, the position in the first pair of defenders will also be filled and Logan Roe will not receive a new contract offer.
Yohann Auvitu’s commitment, however, remains a short chapter. The French international strengthened the Upper Austrians after numerous absences around Christmas time. The defender played 21 games and contributed 13 assists and one goal. With the contract expiring at the end of April, the Olympian will also part ways with Milan.
