The National League season ended a few days ago for the Zurich Lions and Vinzenz Rohrer, and now the Rankweiler is heading back to North America.
At the age of 21, the striker went to the Montreal Canadiens farm team, the Laval Rocket. The national team crack is returning to Canada after three years with the Lake Zurich Lions, in which he collected 56 points in 142 appearances.
Junior time in the capital
Rohrer spent two years in his youth with the Ottawa 67s and developed into a sought-after player. The Montreal Canadiens secured the services of Vorarlberger in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft – the traditional franchise from Quebec invested the 75th overall pick.
AHL debut on the horizon?
There are still two games left on the schedule for the Habs American Hockey League team. On Saturday and Sunday they will be visiting the Toronto Marlies. As the current leader of the North Division, participation in the playoffs is already confirmed. It is not yet known whether and when Vinzenz Rohrer could make his AHL debut. What is certain is that the youngster will start training on Friday.
