The Pioneers Vorarlberg played a last test game exactly one week before the championship in Win2day Ice Hockey League. Against the ice pirates Crimmitschau from the DEL2, the Nygard cracks prevailed 7-2 and were able to recharge theirselves for the league start.
Head Coach Johannes Nygard was able to fall back on the recent actors Roni Allen and Marlon Tschofen. Routine Daniel Woger, however, was not yet available for today’s game.
Maier with the lead goal
Over 100 traveling fans from West Saxony created a great atmosphere in the Vorarlberghalle and everyone present saw a brisk third of the start. The first major chance of the game, Leeda, who took off after Bully win from Florchuk, was only the guidance prevented the lead at that time (8th). A little later it should be so far. Maier blocked a shot in his own third and picked up speed. He hurried the opponents and defeated guest keeper Reich to 1-0 for the home side (10th).
Burke had the top opportunity to increase in the only power play of the start of the start, but according to a nice combination, the American promoted the disc over the opposing housing. In front of David Madlener it was really dangerous in the first 20 minutes, but shortly before the first siren, Brune was not able to successfully complete after a beautiful individual campaign.
Four goals in the middle third
From Pioneer’s point of view, the second section was optimal. Not even two minutes were completed, as Gallant increased to 2-0 for the hosts (22nd). On the other hand, Brune narrowly missed the connecting goal, the Nygard cracks quasi punished this. Burke ideally suited Metzler, who only had to insert it from a short distance (25th).
As a result, the Saxons came on some good occasions, but could not conquer Madlener. On the other hand, the Vorarlbergers presented themselves very efficiently, Burke met after exactly 30 minutes from behind the goal line to 4: 0, and the 5-0 intermediate result after 40 minutes finally got Florchuk overnight (36th).
Maier and Burke as a double scorer
Also in the final third, this key continued, Maier (44th) and Burke (46th) even increased to 7-0 with their second goals of the evening. The game had long since been decided, the guests took advantage of two overpayment situations and the final score was finally 7: 2 from the perspective of Macierzynski & Co.
The pre-season was successfully completed, and next week it will be serious. The fourth season in the Win2day Ice Hockey League will start the away game in Linz for the Pioneers Vorarlberg next Friday.
