In the Alps Hockey League, both the Rittner Buam SkyAlps and HC Migross Asiago celebrated convincing successes in front of their home crowd. Ritten beat HDD Jesenice with a 3-0 shutout on Wednesday and climbed to fourth place. Asiago won 4-1 against Unterland for their second win in a row.
After the away defeat in Kitzbühel, the Rittner Buam SkyAlps quickly got back on the road to success. 40 seconds before the first third break, new signing Brett Welychka gave the South Tyroleans the lead. This narrow 1-0 lasted until the final third, before Adam Giacomuzzi (46th) increased the score to 2-0 with a hidden shot. Shortly afterwards, Max Oberrauch, alone in front of Jesenice goalie Zan Us, prevailed and made the final score 3-0 with his first AHL goal. With the win, in which goalie Colin Furlong recorded a shutout, Ritten moved up to fourth place, while the Slovenians are second to last with just one win from five games.
