The first “On Ice Session” is “Die Haie” at HC Innsbruck. In outside summer temperatures, the new head coach Ryan Kinasewich asked his men on the ice for the first time.
Kinasewich, who spent the past eight years at the Utah Grizzlies in the East Coast Hockey League, has some experience in the multinational league, as he was active at EBEL level for years. In six seasons he laced up the skates for Zagreb, Salzburg, Graz, Dornbirn and Fehervar. Yesterday, the sharks of the sharks were able to get a first picture: “Very motivated, very positive. One who exudes a lot of peace”, Lang-Age-Hai, Lukas Bär compared to the Kronen Zeitung.
Quick “integration” required
Now there is a lot of work waiting for the 41-year-old Canadian, because the HCI welcomes nine “new” legionaries in the Tyrolean capital this year-a total of twelve new faces are in the contingent. Bär believes that the “new” will be quickly integrated: “I think that will first succeed. Secondly, our coach has already thought a few thoughts.” Those cracks that have contested the past season for the HCI will “probably be even more motivated”. Nobody wants to land at the end of the table in 2025/26.
Now it goes with full throttle into the hot phase of preparation and the first test game will soon be facing the Tyroleans. The traditional shark festival rises on Friday, where the Inntalers duel with the tower stars from Ravensburg.
