Just a few days after the start of the training, the first test game is on the program for HC Falkensteiner Pustertal – and it has it all right away. With the HC ŠKODA Plzeň, a traditional Czech club and extra-league first division team in Bruneck is a guest. It is the first real location for the wolves, for the guests the third game of the Preseason (two victories so far).
About the opponent
The club was founded in 1929, played in the highest Czech league and celebrated the only championship title to date in 2013. He has been naming HC ŠKODA Plzeň since 2012 – closely linked to the industrial company Škoda Group. The city itself is world -famous by the Pilsner beer, which was first brewed in 1842 and gave its name to the world -famous beer style – and just as the beer became export hit, the ice hockey club is also a figurehead of the region.
The squad
Plzeň relies on an exciting mix of experience and talent: Nick Malík, one of the strongest goalies in the league, shines in the goal. In the defense, Kristian’s Lette rises rubins (ex-NHL). The import players Christophe Lalancette as well as the two Finnish newcomers Mikko and Ville Petman bring offensive strength into play. In addition, with Dominik Simon, there is an experienced attacker with over 250 NHL games and with Adam Mechura (22) a young Czech talent in which great hopes are placed. There is also no stranger at the top of the club: Martin Straka, former NHL professional and world champion, is the managing director and co-owner.
