When the EC-KAC visits the Graz 99ers, hundreds of Carinthians traditionally transform the Graz ice stadium into a “second Heidi Horten Arena”. In order to prevent that this time, the Styrians are taking special measures for the duel on October 19th.
Online tickets are currently not available – if you want tickets, you have to buy them directly at the Graz Hall or have contacts with the 99ers. Graz subscribers enjoy an exclusive right of first refusal until October 12th. The remaining tickets only go on sale online six days before the game starts.
Own ticket system only for KAC games
According to 99ers General Manager Bernd Vollmann, the new approach is nothing unusual: “It’s normal in every league. It’s the same way in football,” said Vollmann. In the future, the system will only be used in games against the KAC and in the play-offs. The aim is to strengthen the home advantage and avoid tensions between the fan camps.
Fan clubs will again receive over 200 tickets
Originally, the KAC fan clubs were only supposed to receive 99 tickets. However, after discussions between KAC fan representative Hans Radl and those responsible in Graz, the usual number of over 200 away tickets was guaranteed again. Radl, chairman of the “Stiege 19” fan club, emphasized to the “Kleien Zeitung” that KAC fans should behave correctly away from home: “As guests, we have to behave. Unfortunately, a few always cause problems.” He hopes for better cooperation between the fan groups in the future.
Fan article ban lifted
Another innovation concerns the stadium regulations: the previous ban on foreign fan articles in Graz has been lifted. This ban was heavily criticized by the KAC and the league last season. This means that KAC fans can wear red and white again at the game on October 19th – if they can get tickets.
