David Reinbacher will not play any games for the Montreal Canadiens for the time being. The Vorarlberger was sent to the AHL, where he is supposed to strengthen the Laval Rocket in the playoffs.
At the end of the season, Reinbacher made his first two NHL appearances and was able to collect his first scorer point. The defender was not used in the playoff series against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Laval Rocket starts the playoffs
As the top team in their own division, they are now heading to the division semifinals. There Laval will face the Toronto Marlies. The last two games of the regular season were played against their Canadian rivals, both times they left the ice as losers. So you still have a bill to settle.
Game 1 of the “best of five” series takes place on the night of Wednesday to Thursday in the “Place Bell” in Laval. A possible playoff would be scheduled for May 8th.
Real reinforcement
Reinbacher has already been completely convincing for the Montreal Canadiens farm team this year. The defender was able to collect 24 points in 57 appearances. He is therefore a real reinforcement in the race for the AHL title – the Calder Cup.
