ICEHL: VSV is struggling with a “head problem”

The EC iDM heat pump VSV showed too little penetrating power over long stretches in Innsbruck. After a weak starting third and a 0-2 deficit, the Blue-Whites hardly found any solutions offensively. Maxa’s goal to make it 1:2 was ultimately just a cosmetic result.

After five wins from six games recently, VSV’s performance has started to stutter. Only one point from the two games at the weekend was a meager return, as Felix Maxa also knows: “The plan was two wins, we wanted to make a statement.”

He told the Kronen Zeitung what the reasons for the weak performances were: “It’s a mental thing. We have to deal with setbacks better and respond to them more quickly. That’s what happened to us in Pustertal and in Innsbruck with the two goals we conceded in a short time. It’s a constant in our last games.”

Now comes the away game at the Vienna Capitals and after the international break the derby against the KAC. By then at the latest, VSV wants to make positive headlines again.
