In the past season, the American Patrick Grasso stormed for HC TIWAG Innsbruck – Die Haie. There he showed off his goalscoring qualities. The 29-year-old is now returning to North America.
For the Iowa-born crack, the engagement in Tyrol was his first outside the USA. In 45 games this season, Grasso had a strong 21 goals and 35 points. Only five players in the league were able to score more goals. Shortly before the end of the season he moved to the Swedish second division, to Västeras IK – where Austro-export Konstantin Komarek also plays.
He started the current season with the Belfast Giants in the EIHL, but after 16 games the collaboration has now ended. The winger is returning to the USA and will play at an old place of work there. Grasso stormed for the Adirondack Thunder in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) between 2021 and 2024 – even as captain in 2023/24.
