After his dream season last year, VSV striker Maximilian Rebernig is still waiting for a breakthrough this season. Last year’s top scorer has his first goal!
Rebernig is currently in an unusual slump, with last year’s top scorer only having one goal and one assist. Nevertheless, he feels comfortable in his newly formed line with John Hughes and Adam Helewka, as he reveals to the “Kleine Zeitung”: “It actually feels good on the ice, the harmony is there.” It annoys him that “the luck is still missing,” but he doesn’t want to force anything because “everyone experiences phases like this at some point.”
It’s important for him not to put any additional pressure on himself, which he does particularly well at home: “When I come home, it’s very important to switch off.” Before the duel with Ljubljana, he now hopes that the winner will fall, especially since VSV has “noticeably come together” and recently had “a real blast” on the ice.
