Injury in training: National team crack will be out for many weeks!

There is bitter news from the top Swiss league. Austro export Benjamin Baumgartner has been injured and will be out for weeks.

The Salzburg player sustained a lower body injury during training and will be out for SC Bern until the end of January. This means that the traditional club has to do without its second best points collector.

The 25-year-old striker had twelve points in 21 games this season. Top scorer Waltteri Merelä only has one more. Within the team, the two are also the Bernese team’s most dangerous goalscorers with eight direct hits.

Baumgartner’s loss is serious as things aren’t going as planned for SCB this year. After 23 games they are only in 13th place with 27 points – they currently have to go into the play out. But there is still time and the gap to the top ranks is minimal: the Tigers from Langau are in 9th place with only four points more to their name.
