Yesterday the Vienna Capitals clearly lost 4-0 to the Pioneers Vorarlberg in the first of two games within 24 hours. Coach Kevin Constantine was disappointed after the defeat:
“You can’t start a game much worse than we did today. I would have expected a fighting attitude and a response from the team after the first two goals we conceded. It almost seemed as if we were shocked after the goals we conceded. It took until the second third for the team to respond halfway properly. From that point on, we were better than before, although not overwhelmingly.”
“It all came too late given the deficit. Vorarlberg have won eight of their last 15 games, we have won seven of 15. They are better than their start to the season suggests, and they deserve a bit of recognition for that. We will make minor adjustments for today, but we don’t want to overwhelm the team between two games within 24 hours. But today’s defeat should provide enough motivation to want to do better in Innsbruck today and take three points.”
