The federation announced the resignation of the former international handball player Thursday morning.
The management of the CA is entrusted to the vice-president of the federation Marc-Anthony Anner, in accordance with the statutes. The process of appointing a new president and the search for Stefan Schärer’s successor will be launched without delay, underlines the SIHF press release.
“Unfortunately, I realized that our structures were particularly complex and that it was far from easy to reach decisions acceptable to the majority, given the lack of willingness to compromise sometimes displayed by the various stakeholders “, regrets Stefan Schärer, quoted in the federation’s press release.
“In this context, I came to the conclusion that I wanted, from 2025, to invest my time and energy in mandates and projects likely to progress more quickly,” continues Schärer, who is therefore delighted “to be able to continue to represent the SIHF within the committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Switzerland 2038 association”, he explains again.
