EC Red Bull Salzburg is pleased to be able to continue working with Salzburg striker Luca Auer in the 2026/27 season. The self-made player has a current contract and wants to establish himself in the Red Bulls’ professional team.
Luca Auer wants to finally make the breakthrough
The 21-year-old striker learned to play ice hockey with the EC Red Bull Salzburg youth team, then went through the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy and won the title in the ICE Young Stars League (U20) with the academy team in 2021. In the same year, the striker, who grew up in Oberndorf near Salzburg, made his debut in the Salzburg professional team and scored his first goal in the win2day ICE Hockey League in February 2022.
In the following years, Auer increasingly made the leap into the professional team, playing a part in the last four ICE title wins with the Red Bulls. At the same time, he took the opportunity to develop further with the Red Bull Hockey Juniors by playing in the Alps Hockey League and to get additional match practice. Last season there were a total of 12 AHL games in which Auer had 5 goals and 8 assists. In the win2day ICE Hockey League he was used in 48 games (including playoffs) and recorded 2 goals and 3 assists. Next season, Auer wants to take on even more responsibility and is aiming for a permanent place in the Salzburg professional team.
