The prelude to an ICE season for the Pioneers Vorarlberg has never been so bleak: four games, four defeats, hardly any gates and a shaky defense bulwark-the Vorarlbergs are under massive pressure from the start.
Instead of worrying under neo-coach Johannes Nygård, there is one disappointment to the next. The offensive appears inhibited, only five goals after four games are a certificate of poverty. At the same time, the doorbell rang 20 times in your own box – more goals have never been done in the club’s history after such a short time.
The balance speaks a clear language: the Feldkirchers have never started an ICE season worse. The fact that the Vienna Capitals will come to Vorarlberg on Friday, of all things, could now become a turning point. A victory is almost a must – otherwise the mood threatens to finally tip over early in the season.
