The change is official and is causing a stir in the National League: Dominic Zwerger is leaving HC Ambri-Piotta after nine formative years and will be joining EHC Biel next season. The Austrian national team player signs a four-year contract!
Zwerger moved to Ticino in the summer of 2017 and has spent his entire professional career in Leventina. During this time, the 28-year-old winger developed into one of the most consistent offensive forces at Ambri. In 437 National League games he collected 267 points scorer, including 93 goals – impressive numbers that underline his importance for the club.
Now the next career step follows. The EHC Biel is relying on the Austrian in the long term and hopes that he will provide additional power on the offensive. Biel sports director Martin Steinegger particularly praises Zwerger’s offensive instinct, his strong instinct for goal as well as his energy and emotionality, which should give the game new impulses.
Zwerger is also an established player internationally: he is an integral part of the Austrian national team and has already completed numerous world championships for the ÖEHV.
