As the best scorer of the month, Tyler Coulter qualified for the “Hockey News Player of the Month for December” and now won the title in the fan voting. He therefore automatically qualified for the Player of the Year vote.
Over 30,000 votes were cast in the voting for Player of the Month for December and from the start the winner was the one who ultimately secured victory. Tyler Coulter, who scored seven goals in December and was the top scorer, received a total of 8,730, 26.6% of all votes cast.
Second place went to Brad McClure from HC Bozen and Travis Barron from Black Wings Linz with 6,733 votes (20.5%). Linden Vey from the Vienna Capitals took fourth place, ahead of Sebastian Dahm (KAC) and Nick Bailen (Graz99ers)
Tyler Coulter is the fourth player, after November winner Rasmus Reijola, October winner Brady Shaw and September winner Nicolai Meyer, who is definitely qualified for the Player of the Season vote. The election for Player of the Month for January starts in a few days.
