The Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated a 2-1 home win after extra time in their only Tuesday game against Hafro Cortina Hockey. After both teams scored within a minute in the first third, Maximilian Wurzer made the decision in overtime. With this success, Salzburg returned to the top of the Alps Hockey League table.
In an even starting third, Cortina took the lead after ten minutes through a direct pass from Giorgio Panciera. But just 41 seconds later, Maxim Eliseev – currently the league’s top goalscorer – equalized with a precise finish. Salzburg had more of the game as the game progressed, but the score remained 1-1 until the end of regular time
In the third minute of extra time, Wurzer fought energetically for the puck and gave goalie Antti Karjalainen no chance with his shot. With the win, the Juniors regained the lead in the table, while the now eighth-placed Italians suffered their seventh away defeat in a row.
