Glenn Hall, one of the NHL’s greatest goaltending legends, has died at the age of 94.
He was a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and was nicknamed “Mr. Goalie.” Hall held the still-unrivaled record of 502 consecutive NHL starts. He played the majority of his 18 NHL seasons for the Chicago Black Hawks.
He won the Stanley Cup with Chicago in 1961. In his career, he won three Vezina Trophies and the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year. In 1968, despite losing in the final with St. Louis, he was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy. Hall played most of his career without a goalie mask. He is considered a pioneer of the butterfly style of goalkeeping. The NHL is mourning the loss of one of the most influential players in its history.
