The HC Pustertal has completed its squad planning with the transfer from ROK Ticar. In conversation with Sports news Sports director Patrick Bona looks at the coming season and sets a clear goal.
A good five weeks before the start of the fifth Icehl season, sports director Patrick Bona is very satisfied with the transfer activities. “We not only committed strong players in a playful player, but above all highly characterized players,” he emphasizes. The budget was increased, partly by the new main sponsor, and the royal transfer is also clear for Bona: the extension with top goalie Eddie Pasquale.
Despite only six nominal defenders, Bona sees no weakness in the defense. If necessary, it can still be retrofitted. What is striking is the mix of experience and youth in the squad: eleven players are over 30, at the same time young talents such as Fabian Gschliesser, Alan Lobis and Luciano Zandegiacomo get chances to establish themselves.
The clear goal for the 2024/25 season is: direct playoff qualification. “A place in the top 6 is our claim. But getting to the quarter-finals via the detour of Pre-Playoffs would also be fine,” said Bona. He sees favorites for the title in Salzburg, Bozen and Graz.
