Fraud: Former German ice hockey professional has to go to prison!

Former German ice hockey player Marvin Tepper has been sentenced to six years and three months in prison by the Dresden Regional Court. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the ex-professional, who played in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) during his playing days, posed as a police officer together with an accomplice in order to rob older people of their savings.

The perpetrators belonged to a larger fraud gang that specifically called senior citizens and used made-up stories to get them to hand over money or valuables to supposed “officials”. In total, around 125,000 euros are said to have been stolen.

During the trial, both defendants confessed, but did not provide any information about who was behind the gang. The former ice hockey professional was sentenced to several years in prison for a similar act in the spring.
