Exports: Marco Kasper remains optimistic despite the “difficult phase”!

Marco Kasper is having a strong NHL season with the Detroit Red Wings. After 44 of 82 games, the Red Wings are on course for the playoffs with 54 points and are in second place in the highly competitive Atlantic Division. The 21-year-old Austrian emphasizes the importance of the successful start to the season and sees the biggest improvement in his team’s more stable demeanor and better game management.

Personally, however, things are not going as planned for Kasper in his second year in the NHL. After a strong debut season with 37 scorer points, the striker currently has three goals and three assists. Kasper is self-critical, but relies on effort in all areas of the game to get back on track. He consciously ignores criticism from outside and concentrates on delivering his performance regardless of the line in which he is deployed.

The young striker speaks openly to the “Kronen Zeitung” about one of the more difficult phases of his career so far, but points to previous experiences that showed him that such dry spells are part of the game. Despite speculation about a possible demotion to the AHL, the coaching staff continues to stick with him and recently gave him renewed confidence in the first line of attack.

Hope to see you again with Marco Rossi

With a view to the upcoming game against Vancouver, Kasper is hoping to see compatriot Marco Rossi again, after the Austrian duel in the previous season had already proven to be a special highlight. However, Rossi was recently sidelined with an injury.

Away from the ice, Kasper and his girlfriend Tyra find balance in caring for animals. The couple temporarily takes in injured or sick cats until they are available for adoption again. An activity that is mentally good for the NHL professional – even if saying goodbye is not always easy.
