The EC IDM heat pumps VSV celebrated a tedious 6: 3 success against KHL SISAK at the start of the home. In a game full of up and down with many shortcomings, Rauchwald (2), Scherbak, Hutchison, Sintschnig and Hancock for the eagles met.
1. third
The “eagles”, with Swette between the posts and Moser as a backup, started their home opening with a lot of play and rewarded themselves early with the lead goal: Scherbak completed a remarkable counter campaign from the slot. Shortly afterwards, captain Alexander Rauchwald increased and underlined the strong idea of the Scherbak – Rauchwald – Wallenta line. But shortly before the end of the third, the guests shortened: While Strong was sitting on the penalty bench after an elbow check, a spacer shot from Hutchison unhappily crashed into the slot, where a Sisak attacker reacted the fastest and scored the 1: 2-Swette was without chance.

The blue and white found it difficult to play in the second third, lost to structure and had big problems, especially in the game structure-many icings and gymnastics were the result. The punch was also missing on the offensive. In the middle of the game, Head Coach Tuomie Goalie Lukas Moser brought for Swette – but hardly on the ice, the Croatians equalized to 2: 2. Shortly afterwards Villach struck back: Hutchison used a perfect pass from Van NES by direct acceptance from the slot. However, the joy only lasted briefly, because in direct return SISAK used an disorder in the VSV defense and provided 3: 3. With this intermediate score we went into the second break.
3. third
In the final third, the “eagles” found better into the game, even if the overall game lost quality. The guests from Sisak seemed tired and struggled to go along with the pace of VSV. Hancock brought his team again after preparatory work from Wall before the captain Rauchwald placed 5: 3 with his second goal. Paul Sintschnig finally took care of the most beautiful moment of the evening: with a solo he duped the entire Croatian back team and overcame the goalie at the legs to the 6: 3 final score. For blue and white it was a hard-fought victory!
