The fourth round will be on the program in the Alps Hockey League in the next two days. On Wednesday, the EC Bregenzerwald plays its first home game of the season and meets the second place in the table Kitzbühel. The remaining five games of the round follow on Thursday. Among other things, leader KHL SISAK receives the HDD Jesenice for the top game, and defending champion EK The Zeller Eisbären is guest at HC Gherdeina Valgardena.it.
After two clear opening defeats in Jesenice (0: 3) and Sisak (0: 5), the EC Bregenzerwald completes its first home game on Wednesday. Opponent Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel travels as second in the table with seven points, just one counter behind Leader Sisak. After two clear opening victories, the Tyroleans had to give up in Cortina 2: 3 after Shootout. Last season they won two out of three duels against Bregenzerwald.
Sisak welcomes Jesenice to the top game
Table leader Khl Sisak all won his first three games, only given a point in Salzburg at the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. The opponent Jesenice has been in use twice so far: At the start, it set a narrow 3: 4 defeat in the final new edition in Zell am See, followed by a 3-0 home win against Bregenzerwald. In the previous season, both teams fought three close duels, all of which ended 3-2 – twice in favor of Sisak.
Zell am See is guest in Val Gardena
As the only team, defending champion EK is still the Zeller Eisbären without loss of points. After victories against Jesenice (4: 3) and Sterzing (3: 2), the first away game at HC Gherdeina Valgardena.it is now waiting. The South Tyroleans hold three points after three games: Defeats in Kitzbühel (2: 6) and Merano (1: 3) face a clear 6: 1 home win against Cortina. Val Gardena stayed without a chance against the polar bears last season (0: 5, 0: 3, 2: 5).
South Tyrol derby between Merano and Sterzing
A South Tyrol derby also takes place in the fourth round. The HC Meran/O Pircher will deal with the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. Both teams keep five points after three games. Both teams were already facing each other in the season preparation. The Broncos kept the upper hand with 4: 1. Last season Merano prevailed in three out of five direct duels.
Unterland receives Cortina
The hockey Unterland Cavaliers most recently celebrated their first season success with a 3-2 away win in Ritten, but had already accepted two defeats at home. Cortina defeated Kitzbühel 3-2 after Shootout and celebrated the second win in the third game. In a direct comparison, Unterland was ahead in two out of three encounters in the previous season.
Ritten demands the Red Bull Hockey Juniors
On Thursday, the Rittner Buam Skyalps also received the strongly started Red Bull Hockey Juniors. After three games, the BUAM hold four points (eighth place), the juniors are in fourth place with five points. On Saturday, the Salzburgers celebrated a clear 7-2 victory in Asiago. In the previous season, Ritten prevailed in two out of three direct duels. There is reinforcement for the BUAM on the offensive: 31-year-old Brett Welychka, most recently at the Guildford Flames (Eihl), joins the team from Klobenstein.
