End of season? – VSV striker probably seriously injured!

After the bitter 4:5 defeat at the bottom of the table from Vorarlberg, the VSV not only has to cope with two lost points, but also a serious personnel misery. Captain Alexander Rauchwald was injured during a hard check against the boards and was unable to finish the game.

On Thursday, according to the “Kronen Zeitung”, the worst fears were confirmed: the 32-year-old suffered a serious leg injury and is now in danger of being out for months. Depending on how the healing progresses, an operation may even be on the cards – and with it a possible end to the season.

The loss comes at an inopportune time for the already ailing team. Before the trip, four players, Sintschnig, Katic, Vallant and Swette, were missing with injuries, and Hutchison was also out sick.
