VSV sports director Hohenberger: “Without a private sponsor, another legionnaire is not possible financially”

The VSV has completed its season preparation with a 3-1 win against Rosenheim. After a total of three wins and three defeats as well as a goal difference of 25:18, neo-sports director Herbert Hohenberger takes a first balance.

In the “Kronen Zeitung”, Hohenberger spoke about the positive impressions: “We sold well against solid opponents, the boys fit in great.” The new additions have already left their mark. Defender Steven Strong acts “safe”, while Nick Hutchison still has potential but is versatile. Adam Helewka, who had to pause due to injury, is also worried.

For the new season, Hohenberger mainly demands more consistency and an improved penalty killing: “If you are the fairest team in the league, you also have to have the best out pay game. That wasn’t the case last season.”

The sports director describes the collaboration with Coach Tray Tuomie as clearly regulated: “With the tactic, I hold out completely, I have the coaching team for that.” Another legionnaire is not obliged for the time being: “If a private sponsor does not come, it is no longer possible financially to get someone. ”

When looking at the league, Hohenberger expects a hard fight for the top 6 places: Innsbruck, Vorarlberg and Budapest, he wants to leave behind, he sees the favorites in front of Salzburg and Graz. The start of the season is right: three away games in a row are on the program. “After the first weekend, at least three points would be nice,” Hohenberger told the “Krone”
