“Old star” Jürgen Penker back between the posts!

There was a spirit of improvisation during training for the Steinbach Black Wings: Because both league goalkeepers were injured, goalie coach Jürgen Penker stepped in at short notice.

The Bregenz native, who played in 152 EBEL games, was on the ice together with the academy goalkeepers Martin Reder and Leandro Djuric. Despite his 43 years, the former national team goalie showed his class again.

Penker ended his active career in 2015 and has since worked as a coach for Linz’s youth teams. He is also currently working as a scout for the NHL champion Florida Panthers.
