As the top scorer of the month, Brady Shaw qualified for the “Hockey News Player of the Month for October” and now won the title in the fan voting. He therefore automatically qualified for the vote for Player of the Year.
Over 13,600 votes were cast in the voting for Player of the Month for October and from the start the winner was the one who ultimately secured victory. Brady Shaw, who scored ten goals in October, received a total of 3,359 and thus 24.8% of all votes cast.
Second place went to Brad McClure from HC Bozen and Cole Bardreau from HC Pustertal with 2,359 votes (17.4%). Fourth place went to Simeon Schwinger from KAC with 2,252 (16.6%) votes, ahead of Sebastian Wraneschitz from the Vienna Capitals (1,855/13.7%) and Benjamin Nissner from Red Bull Salbzurg (1,358/10%).
Shaw is the second player, after September winner Nicolai Meyer, to be voted player of the season. The election for Player of the Month for November starts in a few days.
