ÖEHV: Women’s squad for the three-nation tournament in Bolzano has been confirmed!

The women’s national team will start the new season next week with two friendly international matches against Norway and Italy, as well as numerous training sessions. And this is already marked by the 2026 IIHF Women’s World Championship 2026, which starts in exactly one year, on November 6, 2026. In the December break they also play two test matches against Germany, an opponent at the World Cup next year.

“In exactly one year we will compete in the Top Division for the first time. That means we have a year to prepare for it. We have to get the players fit and continue to work on our playbook. Our goal is to develop from team camp to team camp so that we can compete at the World Cup in a year,” explains Head coach Alexander Brömswho led the team undefeated to the World Cup Division IA title last spring and thus into the top division.

At the upcoming team camp, the Swede can also rely on his captain Anna Meixner. As usual, the Salzburg native will lead the team on the ice in the two test matches against Norway and Italy. Apart from the PWHL legionnaire, Annika Fazokas and Leonie Kutzer from EV Zug (SUI), Gloria Henek from EHC Winterthur (SUI), and Anja Trummer from the Zurich Lions (SUI), exclusively made up of players from the local win2day Austrian Women’s Hockey League and three others from the DEBL.

A total of 13 players from the successful World Cup team are now also in Italy.

Double against Germany in December

We continue with two top-class games in December. First, on Saturday, December 13th, we will meet our neighbors away in Memmingen, followed by a home game in Dornbirn on Sunday, December 14th.

Germany will also be an opponent at next year’s World Cup and, like Italy, the DEB selection is also preparing for the 2026 Olympic Games.

Information about tickets for the home game in Dornbirn will be announced soon. Tickets for the game in Memmingen are available from the DEB ticket shop.
