The North American ice hockey community mourns the loss of the former Crack Mike Robinson. The 32-year-old from Stouffville (Ontario) was shot in the US state of Wisconsin on Thursday night on Thursday in Sheboygan Falls. He only became the father of a daughter in August.
Robinson started his career at a Canadian university before he dared to jump into the professional area for the 2018/19 season. He spent a season in Echl, the North American third professional league. He then moved to Europe: For the Hanover Scorpions, he stood on the ice in the German Oberliga (3rd league) before ending his active career in the Dutch-Belgian Beniga. After the 2019/20 season, he officially ended his career.
Even after the end of his professional career, Robinson remained closely connected to the sport. Most recently, he worked for an indoor golf company in the United States and traveled a lot to pursue his second passion, the Golf.
In the night of Thursday, however, Robinson was the victim of a violent crime: According to the police, he was shot out of a dark SUV by an unknown perpetrator on the Munroe Street in Sheboygan Falls. Despite immediate rescue measures, he died at the scene. The investigation continues, so far there are no arrests.
