With a 3-2 win after overtime over the Washington Capitals, the Detroit Red Wings achieved their seventh win in the last nine games. Marco Kasper was just a spectator.
The Red Wings are still on fire. The cracks from Motor City defeated the Washington Capitals 3-2 after overtime in a direct duel for second place in the East. Moritz Seider scored the game winner in the last minute of overtime.
Marco Kasper wasn’t there. The Austrian was not called up and, like his teammate Jacob Bernard-Docker, had to watch the game from the stands. “I just wanted to give other guys a chance to play,” said Coach McLellan, confirming that it had nothing to do with Kasper’s performance.
But the Klagenfurt native’s scoring output is more than just expandable so far. After 36 appearances, he has three goals and two assists. Last year, the 21-year-old scored in every other game. The Red Wings continue with a duel against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday night. Whether with or without Kasper remains to be seen…
