The Florida Panthers will miss the playoffs this NHL season. The clear 4:9 defeat against the Pittsburgh Penguins sealed the early exit – the team is missing in the decisive phase for the first time since 2019.
After three straight Finals appearances and two Stanley Cup titles, a season marred by injuries is taking its toll. In particular, the loss of captain Aleksander Barkov and longer breaks for Matthew Tkachuk and other top performers weakened the team considerably. Goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky was also unable to maintain his usual form.
Although the Panthers were still in the playoff race until January, a weak final phase resulted in their final exit. Some players were even spared recently.
