ICEHL: Brandon Coe makes Salzburg cheer in Klagenfurt!

Champions Red Bull Salzburg can claim their third win in a row in Klagenfurt with a 3-4 win after extra time. Brandon Coe became the match winner with two goals, including the decisive goal in extra time.

The ORF live game delivered what it promised. The new edition of last year’s final went to EC Red Bull Salzburg after overtime. The first third was physically intense, but there were no goals. But things continued to be even more spectacular in the middle section. The home team from Klagenfurt set the stage through Raphael Herburger, who followed up strongly in a strange situation and pushed the disc over the line. Shortly afterwards, the Red Bulls had the chance to equalize when they were outnumbered, but instead Simeon Schwinger made it 2-0 when they were outnumbered. However, Mario Huber quickly brought Salzburg back into the game – his 1:2 was also his 300th scorer point in the win2day ICE Hockey League. The Red Jackets once again had the advantage, but Salzburg made it 3-3 in the second third with goals from Lukas Thaler and Brandon Coe. In the final period, neither team was able to make a decision, which is why overtime had to be used. Simon Schwinger narrowly failed there before Coe decided the game with his second goal of the evening.
