The games in the Alps Hockey League are very popular this season. Numerous fans have filled the arenas in the past few days, and strong visitor numbers are expected again for the coming match days. The highlight of the season so far was the game between HC Migross Asiago and KHL Sisak yesterday, Sunday, which attracted 2,900 spectators to the Palazzo del ghiaccio di Asiago and created an impressive atmosphere.
The second best attended game of the season was played just two days earlier. 2,699 spectators didn’t want to miss the encounter between EK Die Zeller Eisbären and the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. The game between KHL Sisak and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it also attracted a large crowd on St. Stephen’s Day with over 2,300 fans.
A total of nine games with more than 2,000 spectators have already been recorded this season, six of which were in Zell am See. Attendance was over 1,000 fans in 38 games this season.
Across the league, 127,611 spectators have flocked to the 13 arenas of the Alps Hockey League. Zell am See clearly leads the spectator rankings with an average of 2,108 fans per game. Sisak follows in second place with an average of 1,485 spectators, while Asiago takes third place with 1,345 fans per game.
