Former VSV goalkeeper Tomi Karhunen has a new employer again. After moving to HPK Hämeenlinna in December 2025, for whom he has played 6 games so far and achieved a catch rate of just over 86%, the 36-year-old Finn is leaving the club again.
His new employer will now be SaiPa Lappeenranta, a direct competitor in the Finnish top league. Karhunen, who already gained international experience in Sweden (Brynäs IF) and Switzerland (SC Bern), had also played for EC VSV for a short time in the ICE Hockey League, but was unable to convince there. This is now his eighth employer in the last five years!
