HC Gherdëina has to accept a bitter sporting setback. As the club confirmed on Friday, Canadian striker Adam Brady will be leaving the South Tyrolean club with immediate effect. The top scorer will probably move to a stronger league.
The farewell had already been indicated on Thursday evening: Brady was surprisingly missing from the squad when the Val Gardena team lost 7-1 to the reigning champions Zell am See. Now there is clarity: The 30-year-old Canadian has been released after HC Gherdëina was able to agree on a transfer fee with a new club.
A bitter loss for the “Furie”
Brady only moved to Val Gardena from Hungary last summer and immediately hit home. Despite a difficult season for the Ladins at times, the left-handed shooter could be relied on: the striker scored a strong 26 points in 23 games.
Goal: DEL2?
In an official statement, the club spoke of a “lucrative call” for the player. While the HCG has not yet officially confirmed the name of the new employer, according to “Sportnews” there are increasing rumors that Brady will move to the German DEL2.
