EC Bregenzerwald celebrated a 5-3 away win over HC Meran in the only Friday game of the Alps Hockey League. Roberts Lipsbergs put together a double pack.
However, the hosts from Meran got off to a much better start, taking a 2-0 lead by the 23rd minute. Then the guests from the Bregenzerwald turned the encounter around. They took a 3-2 lead in the second third. In the final section they went up to 5:2 before Meran shortened the score again. However, it was already too late for the comeback. While HC Meran had to accept its fifth defeat in a row, Bregenzerwald returned to winning ways after two overtime defeats in a row.
