While Reinbacher hopes for an early NHL debut, Vinzenz Rohrer will probably continue to play in Switzerland. The 21-year-old, whom the Canadiens had drafted in the third round (75th position) in 2022, made it from the prospect camp to the training camp, but is likely to appear again for the ZSC Lions in the coming season.
“I have reached the highest level of what there is,” said Rohrer in an interview with “NHL.com/de”. “I see a lot of things that I still have to improve. But I’ll try that.”
The wing striker, which is only 1.78 meters tall, knows that its stature is also a challenge – but does not see any disadvantage. “Basically, it does not have to be a disadvantage to be a somewhat smaller player. We have some smaller players in Zurich and still have success. But the most important thing is to give everything when you are on the ice.”
While Reinbacher has a good chance of an early NHL debut after two camps, Rohrer will be again for Zurich in the coming season. With the Lions, Rohrer recently celebrated the Swiss championship title and has been on 101 games with 22 goals and 22 assists so far. The Canadiens are also not hidden from its development in Zurich: “In Zurich I get excellent training, which is now known for the Canadiens,” said Rohrer.
According to “NHL.com/de”, some indicates that Rohrer continues his training in the National League and continues to work on the jump to the NHL in the medium term.
