After a goalless first 20 minutes, Paul Huber gave the guests the lead in the 23rd minute after a great pass from Lukas Haudum. Lukas Kainz increased the score to 2-0 in the 34th minute. Shane Gersich scored the next goal in the second third, but shortly afterwards Michael Schiechl restored the two-goal lead. The home team continued to fight in the final third and got back into the game with two goals from Brett Pollock in the last seven minutes, sending the game into overtime. In the subsequent shootout, Lukas Haudum secured the extra point for Graz.
