Three goals were scored in the first three minutes and 23 seconds, two of which were for Villach. In the 11th minute the home team increased the lead to 3-1, before the score fell to 4-1 in the 41st minute. Linz came within 2:4, risked a lot and conceded two empty net goals in the last three minutes. For Villach it was the second win in a row, Linz lost for the third time in a row.
